Old to senile to scared to downtrodden to suicidal.

Yeah, that's been my weekend, too.

A comment left by andyk was marked lame too many times and excluded. (marked lame by straw, kenthegod, Darthemed)

Aww yeah, Randy Newman all up ins.

I'm short, I'm Jewish, I'm homosexual, and I'm from Sheffield. I'm fucked!

Whoo, Sheffield.

I have family in Sheffield. It is a pretty rad place.

Chubby for the Alan Bennett ref.

No one would be happy to hear that suicide is aggressively proscribed.

Sure they would. It's when suicide is PREscribed that you have to watch out.

Just hell of chubbies y'all.

Hey Tekende, have you heard of the band, Man Man? They sound like Tom Waits!

No I haven't. I guess I will have to look them up.

Chubby for directing someone to Man Man, though I think their stylistic similarity to Tom Waits is overstated (not just by you, by everyone). I think people just say that because it's easier than trying to figure out what they actually sound like.

They both make excellent music though, and most people who like one will I think like both, so it's all good.

Cornelius's facial expressions is what does this for me. From bemusement to angry concern. A definitive five.

Hes old.....he MUST be going to commit suicide

ALT: Unkind musings overheard; suicide aggresively proscribed

They have to help him because society will not. This is a fact of life.

Is perhaps most basic.

three feet below the surface i can still make out your wavy face / and if i could only reach you i think i could leave this place

I love that Ray says "did he finally get senility?" as though he has sat around at home thinking, "Dang, how is Cornelius still makin' sense?"

All old people contemplate sleeping on crossings.

Perhaps we should ask pogo about this.

Shhh. He's sleeping.

hmm, on second thought maybe it was this strip that got me hooked

Cornelius crosses his arm against the chest at this. His stern look of disapproval penetrates the glass.

Ray's initial reaction scream really gets me.

Today's Blogs

Ray: Poetry from Ray's Collected Stickies.
Roast Beef: Five bucks for poetry

These poems are exquisite. A hardboiled egg cannot contain a weapon in secret. How could it?

Why does the window glass conceal Ray and Beef? Tinted?

This strip reminds me of crying to Morrissy in high school...yes, I suck.

This story arc made me laugh more than any other. It would be the best evar except for the sheer grandeur and adventure of the great outdoor fight. IMHO.

I love trying to imagine Ray's 'EEEAUGH!'. Seriously.

Panel six, Cornelius looks so forgiving, like the grandfather that will always forgive you. Then panel seven happened.

senility is something you get, rather than a cumulative degeneration of ones mental faculties, apparently.
