TA-DAAH!

i think it's even better as it looks: with everyone posing in complete and utter silence after pat pulls the curtain back.

also: your avatar speaks like a poem.

Roast Beef looks so unsure of himself in the shower I bet Ray put him up to this.

It looks to me more like Beef is pleading for forgiveness: "Pat, I am so sorry that I ragged on your awesome hat."

I love this strip but I don't know why. Someone please explain it to me.

it's because pork pie hats are awesome

six hundred ska bands can't be wrong!

Six hundred ska bands must, by nature's unalterable laws, be wrong at least six hundred times.

you are a dude who understands

This is the ultimate truth

Chubby'd. And I like ska, you bastard. So that really hurt me to admit.

Did you take into account the possibility that some of the ska bands may have formed on accident?

One can only hope

I'ma write a paper on the natural flocculation of Ska bands.

Pork pie hats with jaunty bows!

All bows have always stuck me as pretty jaunty, IMO

EVIDENCE:

wait I got confused between pork pie hats and bow ties halfway through

Still, jaunty as fuck

that second one.. not so jaunty.

Brother Mouzone is still mighty jaunty with a pistol.

I guess he is in colour despite his surroundings. That's not shabby.

Before reading this comment, it was my fondest hope that that was a picture of D'Angelo Barksdale from the future.
I've yet to finish the first season, y'see.

Watched the rest of it yet? Did you like it?

nobody has ever not liked it.

Ummm... Tom Waits isn't wearing a bow.

My God. Fry and Laurie as Jeeves and Wooster. Greatest casting decision in the history of creation.

Looking at that top picture, these were my internal monologues exact words:
"Is that Hugh Laurie? It's not Hugh Laurie... no! That is definitely Hugh Laurie."

I now hope that I get to use the phrase "That is definitely Hugh Laurie" in conversation.

I feel sorry for your Americans. Your own knowledge of the awesomeness that is Laurie comes from his role in House.

It's 2 months since your comment, so I'm hoping that you have gone and looked up some of his other stuff.

I have seen sprinklings.
Not enough though... though I don't know if there is an amount of Hugh Laurie that is enough.

I own all of A Bit of Fry and Laurie on DVD.

Though that's a bit predictable.

Also Jeeves and Wooster.

Again, predictable.

Torrents are your friends, my Fryed colleague. It's pretty easy to get both those things and the entirety of QI (which features Hugh Laurie in the debut episode.) It may interest you that Mr Fry appeared on Never mind the Buzzcocks (the music panel show) a couple of days ago as a team captain. I suggest that you look it up.

That episode what hilarious. The intros round? Hilarious.

Was. Was. Yeah, I can make sense.

Which is why Roast Beef ended up burying the black shirt Molly gave him -- he was expecting to get the same treatment.

Just imagine Pat slowly pulling away the shower curtain. Beef and Ray remain frozen in that exact position the entire time

Last panel KILLS!

I figured they were dancing like they were in a jazz bar to mock him.

This is EXACTLY what I visualise.

Thank you for placing a delightful image in front of my brain-eyes.

i am pretty sure they snuck in there just to bother him about his new hat

Panel 6 sound effect: loud cymbal splash

Panel 7: Cut to a sepia-toned shot of a cigar butt smouldering in an ashtray. Fin.

You have such an appropriate handle.

I can't help but find your confusion completely hilarious.

This strip makes me wish that i had a friend named Pat, to whom i could shout randomly, "Is caviar pretty good stuff Pat?"

sans question mark
no

Alt Text: We are interested in your adoptable dog.

That is the best kind of dog.

Damn, what a team.

I really hope they bring that hat back at some point.

Ray did. He pretended to be mocking Pat here, but he wore a porkpie hat for the GOF.

Because that is what "Rodney Leonard Stubbs" wore -- he copied his Dad, not Pat!

That was more of a banded trilby, wasn't it?

I saw a banded trilby on safari once. Put up a hell of a fight.

It has made the occasional reappearance.

full scale sass

ah, back in the days before the cats' mouths moved when they talked.

Beef and Ray are hella committed to mocking Pat's
hat.

They may even be hell of commited. You never know.

I don't know, Roast Beef is just a sidekick to Ray in this one. When Roast Beef actually wants to rag on someone, he dominates like no other. " Your activities are so poorly conveyed ."

i thought they wre sincere.. and roast beefs feelings are hurt..

See, I think they look pretty apologetic in the last panel. Like they are saying "We are sorry about making fun of your hat Pat! Look, we'll wear hats too!"

I don't really understand the confusion here.

they is just a couple of fools who is all taking a joke too fars.

roast beef is happy, this makes me happy.

I think this is the first appearance of the angry Pat we all know and hate.

pat has borderline personality disorder

He thinks he's a borderline?

When in fact he's a bordehat.
-chico.

If anyone can find me that kind of hat online I will be forever grateful to them.

"Pork Pie" - usenzie der Google

This strip kinda explains Pat.

Oh man, I just noticed that RB is smoking in the shower. For some reason, that just makes the strip. From a 4 to a 5.

this is one of my fav strips.

I just love the idea that they'd buy hats they find stupid and break into a friend's house just to make fun of him. Easy 5.

Not to mention the fact that they probably stood in that position for hours waiting.

Yep. Thats pretty much Defcon 1 level ball-breaking right there.

Call me crazy, but this is my favorite Achewood strip. The last panel kills me. You just KNOW they went out and purchased those hats to mess with Pat.

Check out Ray rubbing his belly while asking about caviar. Took me many many reads to spot that.

Discovery: more than a Daft Punk album.

I have this strip hanging in my bathroom next to the shower.

guarantee Ray is making that Cartman "Chaaaa!!" noise in the last panel..

Imagine that third-panel Pat is a really tall ghost.

That's what I thought too! The curtain lines up just right

when does roast beef not look unsure of himself in a shower.

Ever since I read this comic everytime I go to take a shower I expect to find my friends wearing the same hat as me, and striking a pose.

Before I thought more about this I imgained it as Ray and Beef being caught thinking pork pie hats were cool in Pat's shower.

they are giving him the business

the best part is that they are in mid-swagger

Beef's face in the last frame is what makes it for me every time. He looks legitimately concerned in some way.

this is how I make fun of my friends when they wear funny hats

I am of the belief that the effort they put into mocking his had indicates they secretly admire Pat's hat wearing decisions.

a bodi-oh-do

I wish I owned a hat that fancy
