Isn't that Ray's "I just nailed a social worker" crown?

Yes and yes.

I bet he took one of the cardboard ones from Burger King, and somehow made it more awesome.

Ray sees nothing wrong with asking for one of these crowns from Burger King and going home to glue real rubies onto it.

and mink fur, apparently.

That is basically the essence of Ray.

Useta cut em jagged and wear them grey side out in an attempt to emulate Jughead Jones

I wouldn't be surprised if found and purchased an actual crown on Ebay Platinum Reserve .

Dude this is Ray we're talking about, he probably ebayed an ancient, priceless, heirloom crown by accident.

I love the way this refferences a strip posted almost three years previously.

Hah. Ok, that didn't work. Try this

And also another strip, which I'm too fucked to reference ("Does he always wear a crown after he gets mad rutty?")
And who, indeed, was the mad ruttee?

I believe you're talking about the confusion with Little Nephew's pants/underwear situation

pants/underwear situation

Cornelius, duh.

Yes, I definitely remembered the "I'm not afraid of the poilce now" line. A clasic.

Tequila making a person keen on fighting with police has been one of my favourite recurring recurring memes since that strip.
Lyle has been the subject at least once (when they considered replacing his mezcal with something nicer), possibly more.

Here too: https://m.assetbar.com/achewood/uua4p9x4m

Also, Cornelius drinks Pimms. As someone who is around a place where people drink The Pimms Drink (Pimms No. 1 cup mixed with fruit and lemonade) I do very much wonder if anyone drinks it neat. They would probably be a fool to do so, as it is not designed that way. In fact, it is much out of Cornelius' character to do so. Oh well.

I figured that by saying he was drnking Pimms, it was implied that it was mixed with lemonade and fruit or whatever. I mean, that's what me and all my lot call it.

Yeah but in that case it would be nowhere close to 50 proof.

A pimms cup is indeed Pimms No. 1 mixed with lemon soda or pretty much anything, but Cornelius would probably drink it neat just as well yeah i mean it's pretty tasty

Shouldn't Pimm's Cup be served in a pint glass? Anyhow, I'm impressed that Ray even realized that he was drinking alcohol. That's a discriminating palate right there.

I gots ta get me a crown for just such a purpose. I think my wife would take it as a compliment(?)

I love how fear of the police is used as a criteria for evaluating the effects of drink. That is rad.

Its definitly in referance to this old old strip.

Oh, also Ray's expression "using a Program." is EXTREMELY classic.

Guy's, I've been thinking about downloading a Program, is it any good?

Just download it and it gets all the problems away.

That is not true. I am using a Program and my keyboard is still wet.

man that is gross. that is dog shit.

"I was sad and scared" is my most-used Achewood quote.

Don't forget it's more recent counterpart: "I was rude and walkin'"

"RAD and walkin'"

Sorry, I was posting at work and with much haste.

Quit stealing my bit.

5 for the crown

chubby for the curious orange

Chubby for opening old emotional wounds.

Ray's internal organs are basically an inverted distillery.

We should all wear crowns while computing. It will encourage us to only use the computer when it's actually important, minimizing "clicking/dicking around" time and increasing productivity.

Damn Pimms is so good. Such an awesome drink for the summer. Is it not very common in the Americas? I guess it's kind of a middle class British thing, but I'm not middle class and I still manage to enjoy it. Hell of refreshing.

Never even heard of it. Sounds gay. "Pimms" in your buttocks, mate."

Crap, I lamed you instead of clicking reply. Crappity crappity crap.

I was going to say, I had to Wikipedia this drink, and it told me it is drunk at such a thing as a, "regatta?" And a Pimm's No. 1 cup is infused with "borage leaves." These are also things I have not heard of in "the Americas." Or to be offensively narcissistic, in "THE America."

in canada its not unheard of but they'll do anything to seem less american

I think our thing over here is Long Island Iced Teas.

I have to say that I have never quite understood why you would drink alcohol in order to be refreshed. I, like many people, drink it solely to influence my behavior around pigs bobbies Law Enforcement.

That last bit doesn't quite come across. What I am saying is that if booze is headed down my gullet, it is making me less and less afraid of the police as it goes on the journey.

I had my first Pimm's cup last night, at a brand new pub-- first time I've ever seen Pimm's on a bar list. This place made it with muddled mint, Sprite, and a cucumber spear. delicious

He will be using a Program to make the drawing.

If anybody is still curious as to whether or not it would be possible to lower one's BAC by consuming an alcoholic beverage, it would be, but only if your BAC is higher than the alcohol content of the drink. In this example, Ray's BAC would have to be 25% (50 proof). While this would kill any normal being, its effect on Ray cannot be known.

The line "I'm serious, blog" almost makes me want to start a blog so I can use that line somewhere in the blog that I would make.

Ray can imagine such a thing.

This is possibly the only Achewood where every panel has hell of comedy. The last panel in particular; Ray's blogging is always hilarious. Fives all round!

Afraid of the police is now the question I ask people to gauge drunkenness

The phrase "using a Program" makes this, especially the initial cap on "Program."

A seriously classic voicing of Ray.
