The first Ray/Todd business venture. This will come up again later.

A comment left by catachresis was marked lame too many times and excluded. (marked lame by silver_lake, apricotta, BillyLK, nutmeg, Garyos)

A comment left by zem was marked lame too many times and excluded. (marked lame by fakead, autrepoupee, Darthemed)

to clarify: it would not be lame without the gun

Only unintelligible to anyone who doesn't speak lazyarse-language.

Lyle acaba de tirar al VCR normal con eso pistola. No trabajaría con sus cintas de sexo.

Oh, I guess I can read Spanish. That's weird.

Translated:

Panel 1 "Today, in Spanish!"

Panel 2 T-ADORE: "Where is our regular VCR, Lyle?"

LYLE: "That IS our regular VCR! Don't bug me!"

PANEL 3 T-ADORE: "No! No! Our VCR is a "Sony" but this VCR is called a "Clo-Max."

PANEL 4, MEANWHILE TODD: "Ladies and Gentlemen! Thank you... thank you! Today! The Cat With The Secret!"

PANEL 5 TODD: "Mr. Ray, you have a big secret, yes?"

RAY: "Yes, yes."

PANEL 6 TODD: "Six more dollars! Everyone! Six more!"

Thanks! :)

i forgot what "molestar" meant, so i was hoping it was "to molest."

My eighth-grade class was very unsettled when my Spanish teacher attempted to introduce the common expression "No me molesta" into our vocabulary. There was a bit of a misunderstanding.

I like the fact that 'Don Not Disturb' signs in French hotels say 'Ne Pas Deranger'. I will not be bothered by disturbed chamber maids.

Alternate third panel: Teodor molests Lyle.

Excellent. Despite not actually taking any Spanish, knowing anyone who speaks it, or any other proper exposure I was able to more or less accurately translate that. Latin helps a lot. AS does, well, just learning basic phrases which everyone does as a course of living.

Thankfully I now know how to say "What?" in a number of languages. No longer will I be confused solely in English.

The cat has a grand secret.

Which apparently involves opening his towel...?

It has EVERYTHING to do with Ray opening his towel. What is is secret? Will we finally see? Five years later, I'm guessing no.

That he can still sport wood.

Hells yes he can still sport wood.

Not until you pay six more dollars.

I feel like Ray was disappointed in the last panel about having to hold off on opening his towel . . .

Seis Hundo mas dolares, TODOS!

I can totally picture Ray's disinterested tone when he says "Si, si."

I see it as more of a tone meant to entice, to intrigue passersby and let them know they must pay up in order to see his secret, and that his secret is worth seeing. He is a businessman after all.

For some reason I am hearing Ray with an affected girl's voice, a la the 'hennifa lopay' hand puppet from South Park.

On rereading, I think you're right. I think he's probably saying it with affected gravity. Although the "girl's voice" theory has its merit, since his secret is evidently under his towel.

the look on lyles face classic

what is happening with Lyle's arm/gun/collar area in the third panel? are my eyes just getting confused?

He's cleaning it. That... thing... is a cleaning rag. I think.

you're seeing the frayed edge of his sleeve (or sleeve less area) overlap his arm.

In panel two he has his right arm behind his back while his left arm is holding out a bottle of Jack Daniels. In the third panel he has his left arm behind his back and he is examining the pistol in his right hand.

He is contemplating which one to use--which one will be more effective at solving his problems.

And if you happen to be Lyle's problem to be solved with either a gun or a bottle of Jack Daniels, opt for the JD.

Lyle: pro ice.

lyle is always about to molesta something.

I am slightly disturbed by Ray's obscured right nipple in 4/5. Or perhaps disturbed by the loneliness of the left one.

Why is this one rated so low? The thing kills me.

Everything is right about this comic.
