The dialogue in the last panel is worth a five, I think.

I'm with you. Teodor's line is one of the best sentences I've ever read.

I agree too. Let us each revel in our own metaphorical pool house.

I prefer a metaphysical manifestation of a pool house.

I half-agree. The other phrasings are clearer, but the one that was used has better comedic timing (it takes a moment to get what he is saying and that makes it better) and also it sounds more faux-intellectual which fits with the scene.

Oh god my comment was even more pedantic than yours I AM SO SORRY INTERNET I AM SO SORRY

I personally would have used "made in."

Please accept these two pennies. They are symbolic of my thoughts.

Once on television as a child I saw a policeman say to Batman, "That's my two cents," and then I saw Batman reply, "...worth every penny," and now I can't remember if it was Batman: The Animated Series or Batman/Superman Adventures

Well hell that's not worth a lot at all.

Well, as one looking from the outside in through a glass darkly tinted, you're wrong.

Um... the majority of the humor in Achewood for me is Onstad's intentional misuse of the English language. You basically said "I wish he would've made this less funny."

I reject you all based on your appearance.

agreed.

Seconded.

The last panel always reminds me of the scene in Boogie Nights, where Amber and Rollergirl can't leave the bedroom.

"Too many things, too many things".

Agreed, for what appears to be no less than the 58th time.

panels 3 and 4 are worth a five

The first four panels are amazing. I love when Onstad does panels without dialogue.

I agree. I had my finger on the 5 trigger after the first four panels. The rest was just gravy.

I had to re-'read' the first four panels, just because they were so awesome. Then I saved the picture, opened it in paint, stitched those four panels onto one line and set it as my desktop background.

Aint no explainin' those panels, other than great.

I think I'm missing something if you've managed to read those panels...

i see what you did here.

and that is hilarious.

Panel 3 is awesome. Smiles in perfect equilibrium.

Agreed

Got to love that raised eyebrow of Teodors when he they wave at him.

After all the awkwardness of see his friends in what appears to be some bizarre sex ritual, he finally realizes "This is too damn weird, time to go inside and find out what these guys are actually doing.

Of course, his fears come rushing back when he is surrounded by his friends wearing cell phone strap-ons, calming himself by thinking, "It's okay, I don't think they'd have their way with me if I said 'no.'"

I couldn't help but notice that those contraptions never came up for sale on this site.

Todor? Todor?

What the hell .

How did you get the accent to work?

Yes. Do tell. My inability to figure that out has secretly really bothered me over the past three years.

while the dialogue is genius, the first panel when they realize teodor is watching them is pretty fucking funny

Those two are so goddamn cute when they smile.

beef smiles so rarely. it's nice to see.

No longer wondering where his real dong is must have cured his depression! And you're right, those are beautific smiles.

I do this only because I made the same mistake for so many many years, and in the anonymity of the Intertron you may learn in the glorious silence that does not require pride.
But I believe you mean beatific

You know, Roast Beef isn't just depressed, I think. He just doesn't spread his joy evenly. Has anyone been as happy as him when he saw the guys do Cheers? Not even Philippe.

Congratulations, in a way.

This, combined with Roast Beef eying him up and down, is pretty danged creepy out of context.

Usually I ain't big on using Achewood quotes in real life, epicurus-style, but really your life is not correct if you haven't tried greeting a friend with this line.

man I ain't fallin for that one again

PERFECT SENTENCE.

the enlightenment on Teodor's face in panel 11 is...is...beyond utterance.

Does T stuff his shirt? His profile with and without his shirt look distinctly different.

The sweater Penny made for him must be pretty thick.

Ray stole my idea.

teodor looks excellent without a shirt on.

Teodor sounds like me after three hits of LSD.

three hits of LSD, a shot of weed, and two tabs of tequila

I have frequently heard doses of LSD referred to as "hits". No need to be a dick about it.

'We've made a discovery. A breakthrough. Please, remove your pants.'

Oh, how that phrase could either herald happiness or hell.

I thought it sounded like a line out of a Monty Python skit.

Replace "pants" with "trousers."

I always mess up when saying something about pants to someone online and then remember they're British.

We really need to steal that word. "Trousers" is just goddamn hilarious.

an enlightened Teodor is not scared off by the proposition or remaining in the pool house for an indefinite amount of time...although, if they remain in the pool house, how can they expect to pull in more converts to the walk of the enlightened?

The desire to pull in more converts is a symptom of unenlightenment. The enlightened Todor has no wants.

I wish I could chubby that statement more.

Wouldn't it be enweightenment?

I am openly in love with the ending line here, and use it whenever possible to blow off arrangements.

But how else are we to broadcast our severe loserdom to the world? HOW WILL THEY KNOW?

WHY FIND OUT?

You know the first few times I read this statement I interpreted it at "I am in love with the ending line like it's a living thing, and thus when people propose an arrangement like marriage I blow them off for my true love, the ending line." I like it better this way. It freaked me out.

Needless to say I am completely high as hell.

Teodor is just dragged into the greatness by Ray and Beef. Saying that, the last panel is a glorious illustration of why we should ALL wear these pants.

It takes a special couple of dudes to get spotted pouring water in each others' extended crotch cup and immediately default to pleasant, unassuming friendliness.

Wow, I really misread the title of this strip. Thought it said Teodor is bi- curious.

That was the joke, unless I miss my guess.

That title is quite possibly the best arrangement of words across which I have come today. I am in Sci-Fi class, and "Sci-Fi Curious" is going on my binder. In Sharpie, so they know I am serious.

charchar is Sci-Fi Serious

Seriously!

Yes.

Is it just me, or is this like the first time you ever got sort of stoned?

I love ham..

I hope I'm not the only one who started crying during this arc, because something so awesome will never happen to me.

these garments add a new dimension to the phrase "acid pants."

Teodor's waist is 18 inches? that's a deluxe sized teddy bear

I cannot five this comic hard enough.

The only bad thing about achewood is that it is impossible to describe a typical joke to your friends. Lord how I have tried.

Big ditto there. I just caught up to the current storyline. Two months of, honestly, the greatest comic strip I've ever seen, but I feel like God just spoke to me in a language all his own.

Teodor had to take a minute to decide whether or not to go out there. "These guys, they are okay. ... ...maybe"

Why there is not an animated gif of panels 1-7 yet is beyond me.

maaan, I wish it really were as simple as strapping a tinfoil appendage to myself. altho to be fair I don't know if anyone's tried it yet :)

"If I had plans, they were made by an incorrect life I no longer maintain."

Yup, that's the line.

I like how he put quotes around it, because then you know he is quoting the comic and not discussing a matter.

Teodor has hella nipples.

Oh boy! The "You haven't seen these highest rated" sidebar has been taunting me for quite some time now since I'm reading in order. Finally, one of those strips came up :P
