Orange creamsicle alcohol drink Wednesday, November 7, 2001 • read strip Viewing 41 comments:

This is pretty much my favorite drink to make while watching anything from the 80's

i once drank them with a man who looked freakishly like michael douglas after he towed my boat home when the motor died. it didn't help that i was high and kept asking him about the chick from "romancing the stone."

Did he try any romancing the stoned?.. If you're picking up what I'm putting down..

don't pick it up. we all know where it's been.

I just accidentally mixed up a bunch of these while at work today. Fucking delicious and highly effective.

I love relaxed working environments.

Accidentally?

"Awww, I spilled my Stoli Vanil and Sunkist all over the--hey, yum!"

Cornelius starts to get some character. A Good Thing.

Funny and educational; Achewood has it all.

...you must be 5% smarter than poor editing....

and you fail.

I see what you did there.

How indeed

The first of many a fantastic Achewood cocktail.

First Achewood recipe. I submitted a drink recipe to Onstad and never heard back. It was a minty, creamy apertif.

Cornelius as we know him begins here.

This has become one of my favorite drinks.

But what's it called?

Why, it's called an Orange Creamsicle Alcohol Drink, just like the title says!

his hat. oh jeez.

The entire wearing of the chef's outfit for preparing a drink that's main ingredient is orange soda is perhaps one of the better gags of early Achewood.

The best Birthday ever was when a buddy gave me a bottle of Absolut Vainilla as a present and i could finally prepare this.

I read this strip earlier today, and now I'm sitting here with a bottle of Absolut Vanilla and orange soda. It tastes pretty fine.

i was staying with my girlfriend and her extended family once and her uncle had spent all day talking about creamsicles. After supper when we finally got around to drinking some, I ripped Cornelius' line and the family swooned for my Old World Charm. Thanks, Corny.

You mean they weren't impressed by your Old World Moustache?

This Tuesday I wanted to order this drink, having done so many times before, but they didn't have vanilla vodka. Instead we went for a mix of Fanta, Sprite, Vodka and Cream. The taste was similar, the vomit was not.

Also vintagely delicious:
Orange Flintstone's Pushup:
1 part Amaretto
3 part Orange juice
1 part cream
stir over rocks.
delicious .

Does it really taste like a Flintstones pushup? Those things are so awesome. I need to try this drink sometime.

It does. I once drank 4 in 10 minutes due to the high content of deliciousness and was promptly drunk.

Oh my goodness, good sir, that sounds delicious. Hell, the next chance I get, I will try this. Or its closest equivalent, which for me would probably be a White Russian replacing the Kahlua with orange juice, which will make me feel rotten all over. But it won't be your fault.

Anyway. Chubby.

4 because this is hella information to have if you're ever throwing a bachelorette party and know no other frilly drinks beyond Tequila Sunsets.

I believe it's tequila sunRISE...but i suppose too many of them would make the title you chose more appropriate.

there are hell of frilly drinks such as tequila sunrises', btw.

Bachelorette Party = Chicks. I doubt many females are good at getting other females crazy hammered, unless they are gay. I am pretty good at it, because I am ugly and a huge jerk. Margaritas.

If I drank this would probably be awesome.

Wait! This flavor is from...History!

We talking Mark Twain or Lonis Edison here?

This drink was served at Onstad's signing at Skeleton Key Tattoo in Portland, OR. They called it "The Achewood."

i'd waited around five years to make out with this one girl.
this drink helped me do that.

thank you, Onstad.

In going through the archives again, old stories like this intrigue me. What happened with this girl? Do you now regret this episode, or does it have a nostalgic flavor?

First time that the Cornelius we know begins to appear, using antiquated but highly articulated English.

I think this might be the first strip where cornelius starts to get some of his personality.
