unnecessary and terrible.

Oop, got to side with Asherdan on this one, seeing as he's mirroring a Stephen Fry line. Intentional quote or not, you can't argue with Fry.

those who try are always wrong.

dead wrong

Note the stew metaphor which pervades this arc. What does this symbolize? Compare to your other readings this semester (Moby Dick, The Dream of the Red Chamber): How can this metaphor be applied to them?

what?

SPLUT

Man that onomatopoeia doesn't exclusively belong to Garfield

No... but Garfield is the only comic to dedicate an entire week exclusively to "SPLUT." Whenever I use that onomatopoeia in my comic, I think of it as a Garfield reference.

Sorry... here

The difference in severity between Garfield's "splut" and the "splut" linked above cannot possibly be overstated

What? They're pretty similar. One's a pie hitting a fat cat in the face, the other's an internet-ready stabbing machine with a faulty driver hitting a West-Virginia-bred serial killer cat in the face.

...oh...

For a handy guide to the "spluts" of Achewood, see thatcrazycommie's post from 10/17/07 (as well as the strip from that day).

You know, sometimes I picture Roast Beef as speaking in the voice of Lorenzo Music. His voice just had that slow, sad quality to it. Unfortunately, it's already famous as the voice of Garfield, so that would make it awkward.

Chubbied, two years late.

Showbiz gets "Michael", Roast Beef gets "Cassandra". A psychological point could probably be made about this.

Showbiz wasn't born a manlady.

Have you not seen his downstairs mixup?

I love that his mail gets addressed to Michael "Showbiz" Kazenzakis.

I love how it's addressed to 'general delivery.' That is some subtle love & squalour.

I didn't laugh, but this comic still grabs me in a way.
Dig Achewood.

What gets me here is that beef is actually going to do the goddamned dishes.

So true. It is meaningful in a way I can't describe. He helps his brother even though his brother doesn't really deserve it.

Five for the alt text.

Roast Beef looks so sad when he holds the cat sized bottle of soap, i almost feel a tear
