So surreal. So delightful.

magical surrealism

YES

YOU ARE CORRECT

I was wrong.

A comment left by typo was marked lame too many times and excluded. (marked lame by sevenarts, onegoodmonkey, Connellingus, MrPoopytime)

Figures Butters would automatically jump in with the Hanna Barbera reference.

Asherdan, even when you're being nice you're a dick.

The soundtrack to this arc is Black Mirror

I was thinking more along the lines of incidental music from the '67 Spider-man cartoon.

I knew the video to that song reminded me of something.

I guess I'm the only person who finds this FUCKING CREEPY. Love it though.

No, I find it really creepy too. And for some reason the next couple (where the drawings go all fuzzy) disturb me immensely.

Dang, the fact that Onstad was able to work a Hanna-Barbera reference into Butters' dialogue there is heroic.

Into the dialogue?
Dude... that helicopter is powered Flintstones style... That isn't just dialogue; that is the real deal!

I'll assume this is a reference to a previous occasion where Ray has attempted to kick a hole in one or more of Bensinton's cars, all the while crying: "I'm Flintstonin' it! Can't you see? "

Here is where the storyline takes a turn for the extremely bizzare.

I love the sign above the ignition. "BEGIN". Generally this entire strip is deeply disturbing.

I kind of feel like Danny Elfman could write the soundtrack of this strip...but there's about a 50% chance that it would suck balls.

I sort of felt Angelo Badelamenti was more likely.

I think Badelamenti is better suited for the Cartilage Head and Ray in hell arcs.

Or Neil Young on a theremin.

the catleg-copter reminds me of Salvador Dali's drawings.

It reminded me of those crazy long-legged horse things from the Dark Crystal. You can totally see the stiff, awkward slow-motion gallop happening in the last two panels.

those are way creepier than what happens in this arc.

Sweet! A Keychain!

War of the worlds!

This is what I thought as well.

Baba Yaga's house

My favorite part of this is Ray's "I will listen to music with you for ten minutes Butters."

Unfortunately, the copter's radio only picks up one station, which continuously plays "Land of Confusion" by Genesis.

Panel Four: The helicopter blinks!

With its eyes in the shape of todd's van

It is wearing a Mexican wrestler mask. Those fools!

it must be Hecho en Mexico

Their little cat feet go "pouf"

....in the night.

How in the fuck is this CHEAPER than a real helicopter?

Ray knows exactly how much time he wants to spend listening to music with Butters.

The heelacopter looks like a Luchador

wow, how's it possible i totally forgot this whole story?

Maybe you fell asleep?

Alright, I've made a decision. I am gettin a tattoo of the helicopter as it appears in panel 8. Right bicep. It is perhaps my favorite image in all of Achewood for reasons other than humor...and honestly, I can't see a more fitting image to get implanted on me. I'll post pictures on this strip when it's done, and send some to Chris (perhaps he'll put them up somewhere...)
Just wanted to give y'alls a heads-up.

tat pic or GTFO

I actually spent a long amount of time informing people of this decision, and the general consensus was to ask numerous probing questions for way too long about the overall purpose of such a tattoo. Instead, tonight at the free tattoo/signing deal in portland, i got young Beef listening to a cassette tape looking dismayed, and the cassette tape is saying "you can do whatever you want in life." this is an easily explained tattoo.

what i want to know is if they have the key, why can't they fly it?

alternatively: shouldn't the pilot have the key..?

THIS is the best story arc ever

effing hilarious. like... it blows my mind how much this tickles me.
