Mostly just shot is all

good form, sir.

The first strip I read!

Philippe's concerned face. he's such a rad friend.

It doesn't get said enough that Phillipe is completely rad

I dunno. It'd be kinda like if the queen woke you up every morning. Too Special.

I have a weiner dog that is basically Philippe, and whenever he can he wakes me up in this manner.

It gets old pretty goddamn fast, especially when a dude was way slanted on cold ones the previous night.

he sits by your bed stammering forlornly?

Well, he's pretty anxious

Phillipe does kinda look like a weiner dog, now that you mention it.

he...is...RAD!

we all friends!

dead cain i see your face all the time look
there it is again |\

I get around and such.

"except for that I am shot" Truer words...

There is something really touching about Roast beef - Philippe interactions. Like, as characters they are on the opposite ends of so many spectrums, but there's sweetness there, too. Maybe that's why the sweetness is there?

Anyway: awww.

It's funny that Ray and Beef are in Achewood when they both obviously came from somewhere out of the Gothic South, probably originally the stuffed animals for one of Faulkner's characters. You can see that in Ray's family, for example, or in Beef's insistence on calling women "ladies."

I don't know, I almost always call ladies "ladies," and I've never lived farther south than Pennsylvania.

I live in Canada, and I call women ladies. Mostly because I am uncomfortable around women.

Ray and Beef are real cats, not stuffed animals.

It's OK, Beef. You'll get to kis a lady the third time around.

Well, almost.

Is it ok for a man to cry just a little, while reading this strip? A friend of mine was asking, that's all.

Philippe did not help Beef get his smiles on.

This little guy is one of my favorite strips. I agree with trollcollins about the sweetness of Roast Beef/Philippe interactions. They both just try their best.

In case I ever am shot I have instructed several friends to come have this exact conversation with me.

One of the few times that Beef matches up to Phillippe in terms of "Aww"

Oh! So sad!

Come on, somebody say it. Somebody say "the saddest thing."

Man, that's rough. If I were a lady, I'd give that boy a big old kiss.

get ya smiles on

I think we can all learn a valuable lesson about kissing ladies and getting shot, here...
Don't get shot and then you won't have to admit to your rad friend that you've never kissed a lady.

But if you do get shot then you get to kiss a rad lady while riding your sex bicycle. I think.
