i could go for some nice liquid banjo right about now

So Lyle can't read cursive, but is comfortable with calligraphy, eh? Lyle sure does have some complicated problems.

Maybe he toke those cracks about not knowing cursive seriously and did something about it.

Maybe he just toked some cracks.

*will refrain from pointing out amusing misspellings in future*

Your avatar goes perfectly with this comment. Chubbies abound!

Sweet. Thanks, hip jive robot!

Your comment sounds like the closing line from a 90s sci-fi movie for kids.

Sweet. Thanks, hip jive robot! Now let's get back the time-blender and buzz back to the present so I can be home in time for dinner! Mom's making mini-pizzas! To the max!

Aww, don't use that hoverboard! We'll get home quicker if we use the inter-tubes!

Conceded.

it was Lie Bot who said that about Lyle in the first place though
not a very reliable source

"Liquid Banjo" is such an excellent name for a serious kentucky bourbon.

"Taste The Twang."

I'll have a Liguid Banjo and coke, please. What? You only have Pepsi? Then go fuck yourself.

I knew a guy whose drink was liquid banjo and Country-Time Lemonade mix, straight up. He'd drink a quarter of the big quart bottles, then pour the mix in and let it chill in his freezer. Bleck.

that's the real definition of the word 'hooch.'

it mostly just gets tossed around a substitute for 'booze' nowadays, though.

gimme a bottle of Liquid Banjo to put next to the Cartilidge Head Pinot I've been saving

Lyle is maybe the most complicated character in the entire strip.

Sometimes you just want to pretend you have your own brand of whiskey. It doesn't need to be a thing.

Alt Text: Mr. Bear tries to play chess with Todd but Todd has a cocaine problem - TOMORROW!

Why did chris lie. That sounds fun.

It's like the "Next on... Arrested Development" clips. You have to do the follow up yourself.

Morning Becomes Night

I loved when lyle wrote ray that note when they were in germany and how it looked so pretty. Such continuity

I once knew a man much like Lyle. He couldn't have had an IQ over 85 but he could dash and flourish like nobody's business. It was like reading the script of angels.

A five in his memory.

I really like how Lyle doesn't want anyone to know he knows calligraphy.

He probably doesn't want himself to know he knows calligraphy.

It's not hard to imagine that he's done some tattoos in his day, that may be where he gained his steady hand.

I pretend to have my own brand of rye.

It was gonna be a 2, but "...you know?" made it a 5.

Re-reading the archive for the first time, and finding that I love Lyle. Who knew?

Lyle and Vlad were kings of the early days.

Truly. I always think I don't like Lyle, but then there are strips like this...

Lyle's the character who hooked me on this strip. It was Lyle's Decision-Making Flow Chart which drew me in. It was so deeply weird, yet debauched, that I felt I needed to know more about the strip and that character in particular. That tiger is pure id, and it is cathartic to follow his antisocial exploits!

Vlad is still a king!

Why do we always hurt the ones we love? Why Banjo? Why?! Banjo! Banjo! Banjoooooooooooooooo!
