Who would have thought such simple expressions could be so priceless?

a guy is rocking my can!

ha!

well I'll be buggered.

More chubbies, people. Come on.

Oh dear, it's at 69.

I've noticed that on a lot of comments...

with that moustache I'm not surprised

do you think its cool to have a facial hair bias?

whatever, my dad thirty years ago.

Ray's effort here is really endearing.

Ray means well, he just overdid it on the "understanding".

annoying pat a bit is not an accident on ray's part, I am sure

Anyone who wants to broaden their minds on homosexuality should say Ray's second to last line out loud. You'll find your life changes dramatically. I, for example, was promptly fired from my job.

Positively Woody-Allen-esque. Early, funny Woody, too. Since I can't give you a Woody I will give you a chubby.

A comment left by pogo was marked lame too many times and excluded. (marked lame by ted0phile, aliiis, kenthegod, dullard)

No you didn't. Did you.

A 59 year old wrote this. Chubs!

i got propositioned, myself

I am ridiculously pleased at the fact that I have given this comment its 69th chubby.

What Ray does here is the only possible way to honestly handle that situation.

Is that really what it is like? Can someone comment on the veracity of Ray's prediction?

Are you sure you can handle the truth, Epicurus?

Maybe it's best that I not know the terrible reality.

from wikipedia: "Epicurus never married and we don't know of any children."

Oh shit, you mean the historical Epicurus was...

A badminton player?

chubby for implying the word 'shuttlecock'

TOTALLY on purpose, too.

then DOUBLE chubby

chubby for a Masterful use of Wikipedia.

Gay first time story: having read this strip before then, it did actually run through my head, and I nearly laughed out loud, which would have been a bad thing to do, probably.

I make sure all my hypothetical gay lovers know that my ass is ticklish, just in case.

Strip ends abruptly; my face settles into a bemused and satisfied smile

Alt Text: Ray is trying to prove that he has an open mind.

I could have sworn that he was just fucking with him.

Ray is embarassed about his gas.

are Ray's arms flabby or beefy?

"husky"

you may choose between fleefy, or blabby.

5 for Ray's guileless attempts at being supportive, and for what goes on between his sheets.

"So, you take it in the can now! That's different."

I too have a habit of casually making completely inappropriate statements like this.

That's the kind of habit that I aim to cultivate.

Panel #6 is godlike.

Even a distinguishing mark such as artisanal rum is not enough to absolve Ray of complicity in the number one cocktail cliche of the 00s.

"Mojitos are a gay drink," or mojitos in general?
I need to know whether to chubby or lame you, since if it's the second, I really don't like people telling my I shouldn't enjoy something anymore just because it's popular (of course, I always hated mojitos. But then again, my longtime favorite, the gimlet, has suddenly become popular.)

I can't stand Mojitos. Far too much work for a cocktail, and the one I had was just overpoweringly minty. Give me a good Whiskey Sour any day.

Didn't Ernest Hemingway use to get all spry on Mojitos and go out and machine-gun sharks?

Hey-o!

i've given it some thought in the past, and yeah, that's just about where i ended up too. kind of a slightly bemused curiosity.

"I didn't want you to think I was homophobic at you"

totally classic Ray

You cannot get much more Rayesque than this strip.

I like Pat in this strip. He's pleasant, he's polite, and I can totally sympathise with his getting a little...pissy. Don't ask, it involves my father, a hidden camera and a boy from the local swimming team.

Against my better judgment, I'm going to take that at face value. I will not ask.

After that, I don't think there's much left to ask.

Wouldn't a camera kinda hurt?

i was thinking of this strip and chuckling to myself while washing dishes at work and of course, while my boss was walking by i, unknowingly, muttered "A DUDE IS ROCKIN' MY CAN"
don't have to worry about her ever speaking to me again

In panel 8, Ray's nipple starts to droop.

I am going to chubby this and then go see if it is true.

probably my favorite strip ever :D

yet i am neutral?
i made a mistake and i must correct it. i am correcting it right now. i am totally pro this strip.

no, you just pro'd your neutral comment. you're making it worse!!

Man, I never remember or even fucking bother to change that. I guess don't have the heart of a true assetbar devotee.

Oh I wouldn't say that Mr Norman. Your contribution to the bar of assets goes way beyond your negligence of the pro/neu/con option.

Pat's expression in the final panel isn't annoyance, it's more like angry astonishment.

"Wh--GOD DAMNIT HOW DOES HE KNOW THAT"

well that is pretty much how it goes

I am SO glad one of the friends that I've known since milk money days came out of the closet. The greatest Christmas gift he could've ever given me was the gift of an Achewood quote setup.

Ray's dialogue here reminds of someone from the older generation trying way too hard to demonstrate open-mindedness.

You have a penchant for rephrasing the alt-text

Ray apparently never really imagined taking it in the can before, and feels he would be enthusuastic.

The face I'd make if a dude was rocking my can would be none so ponderous.

After I came out I had a conversation kind of like this, only it was with my dad instead of my extremely wealthy, constantly buzzed friend.

Yomimono's father attempts to support his daughter's orientation, but is stymied by his belief that a "lesbian" is someone who likes dudes to rock her can.

i think pat's annoyance stems from the fact that he is, in fact, the one who does can-rockin'.

I think it stems from the fact that he probably hasn't been out of the closet long enough to actually experience any can-rocking, whether receiving or giving.

Also he is kind of a prude.

she...

i dont know why i replied in such a way, or at all, even....... fuck THIS guy!

Are you asking, or demanding?

i was raised to be polite.

Throw a "please" on there and you got yourself a deal, politeboy.

get out here! french me! please.

Romance. I wanted to chubby every post, but I ran out.

Ray has a most impressive foyer, they are walking forever!

i love how ray never 'gets it'.. but he's always got it.

man, is strips like this where i wonder why the hell pat and ray keep talking to each other. they have absolutley nothing in common and are perfect representations of one another's anathema. then again, maybe this is why we haven't seen pat for a while...

If you were taking it in the can and you loved it, that would be good but it would take some life adjustments, if you didn't like it that would be bad, but you could quit and try to forget the whole thing. What would be difficult is if you just kinda disliked it, the way a woman who's been married for a decade is about giving oral. You would have to be gay and bored.
