I couldn't figure out what it was at first... It looked like one of those cheap, rubber Halloween masks you see in dime stores. It was just too fucked up to be human, but somehow, deep down inside I knew it was. His mouth was all busted up... broken teeth sticking out of pink gristle... His lips started moving and wet, sloppy sounds came out. I was scared shitless, but I just stood there staring at him, listening... trying to figure out what he was saying. "Go away... go away..."
