Wow, Phillippe just can't get any love from his reflection.

Surely we all know the mocking specter of suicide sought but not obtained. So close, yet so far...

my reflection calls me a retard, too. it also calls me fat.

Does your icon say "Sylar?" Because that looks nothing like Zachary Quinto.

Except that... it is... him?

It doesn't?
Someone better let him know he's not looking like himself lately. You should do this.

Wow. I don't know what any of that means, but I always thought your avatar was of Taylor Hicks. Do I hate you more or less now.....

Hm. Gotta take stock.

It is correct.

anything dealing w/gravy has me sold!

phillipe is impatient

Philippe is Five.

Actually, Philippe is a retard.

rude.

Philippe is an otter. They're marine mammals; he could probably hold his breath all day and not die.

And that's not even getting into the stuffed animal thing.

OR DID I BLOW YOUR MIND

Woah, crazy! I got the first Volume, so I don't check on these early strips too often, and this one Chris definitely revisited. In the book the Reflection doesn't say anything.

I wonder if it was changed for the book, and not the other way around.

Since when does Phillipe have such unconscious hate of himself... or that mirror is a portal to an "alternate" dimension... though evil Phillipe doesn't have a goatie.

He is only five.

Philippe held his breath long enough that he was hallucinating which is what the alt text is all about.

Phillipe just seems to have terrible psychosis.

yeah man he's getting all Army of Darkness

taht whole scene should happen with Philippe instead of Bruce Campbell. imagine it.

In panel 6, how is he talking while holding his breath. I know he never opens his mouth to talk. Is that ridiculous or what? Oh no wait, it's not ridiculous, it's Achewood.

WTF with the alt-text..."she could stand up freely inside the car; she was his wife; they are both gone now"?

I don't get it either, I don't get it at all! Onstad is trying to FREAK US OUT!

perplexing...

I am guessing that she was very short, and beautiful, probably a foreign girl who starved as a child behind Soviet barbed-wire. She escaped to America where a good man fell in love with her, but tragedy followed her, like a maniac amongst the Marielitos.

Really. Is that what you guess. >_>

I don't know what ">_>" means. I don't know that language.

There was a wife here.
its gone now.

Onstad, please. Explain the alt-text here... or someone else have a stab. Google wants nothing of it as a quote.

A comment left by meepmeep was marked lame too many times and excluded. (marked lame by Overmedicated, Courtland, earendil, diplomat76, Wulvaine, Appers)

I like the early alt texts. Less commentary on the strip, more bizarre disconnected sentences.

mexican magical realism mirror.

Mirror, Mirror on the wall,
Who's the most retarded person of them all?

*hint* Look at the mirror, Philippe.
