AWK-WAAAARD!

I think everyone's been here.

what, riding in a serial killer's van, next in line? oh necessarily.

wearing a bee costume that makes it impossible to move your arms? obviously.

I mean what's the point of being in a serial killer's van if you aren't dressed as a bipedal bee.

God, this arc made me so hella nervous. I was gonna be pissed if something bad happened to Philipe.

Yeah, me too. I was really surprised at the time, since I'd only been reading for a couple months, and also it was the first (last? last.) time a webcomic made me feel any attachment to its comics. I'd like for this comment to be funny, but honestly, I'm just in awe that Achewood can be even half what it is, sort of like Ted Leo. Simple components, the same ideas a bunch of times over, but it's always fuckin' terrific.

Mega-chub for Ted Leo fandom.

guess who just got STAAAARED-ATTTT !

I can imagine getting kidnapped by a known muderer and sex offender being many things, but awkward has never really been one of the...until now.

Do we really know he's a sex offender yet? Remember, those children were clothed and such.

Yes, but he had on a tank top, tube socks, and NOTHING ELSE.

The police said "known sex offender". https://achewood.com/index.php?date=07092004

man that could just mean he peed in an alley too many times (between murders)

And here is where the copyright and credit move from in between the panels to up at the top.

Never even really noticed that before.

best silent strip

if you notice it isn't nice pete that is being odd here. phillipe is staring at him.

Well the man just kidnapped him. Even little inoccent Phillipe knows something is up.

Ohhh! Philippe's face in panels 4 and 6 makes me want to cry!

Chris Onstad stole the idea for this strip from my Junior Prom.

She wore the bee suit, I drove the van.

what happened when you got to the ice cream parlor?

Things started to get weird

Eyes on the road, Pete.

So funny. I love the alt-text.

A comment left by yossarian was marked lame too many times and excluded. (marked lame by mercuri0us, king_of_pwns, aHatOfPig)

Nice Pete knows what is to come, and he doesn't like it, but that doesn't mean it isn't going to happen.

Much like The Box That The Children Will Die In, these things aren't about killing. They just happen sometimes.

Nice Pete doesn't know what is to come, and that is what bothers him. He likes the little otter in the bee costume. He doesn't want a bad thing to happen to the little otter.
But he cannot predict what Destiny will demand.

Awesomest noir silent strip.

OH MY GOD SOMEONE'S GOING TO DIE

Pete is turned off by his prey's blatant wide-eyed stare... It is just like a first date.

Brilliant strip, def needs to be closer to a 5 for how much it conveys without words and the palpable tension.

Why does Nice Pete's van look like the Mystery Machine pre-painted?

"Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is what I feel when we're together..."

I just noticed that the wipers don't go off at any point during this comic. Just an observation :-/

if you didn't know the outcome, wouldn't you say that pete in panel 8 is regretting the creepy act he feels compelled to do? *shudder*

One time my uncle was walking through the woods. Another man started walking with him.

My uncle looked at the man, and the man looked at my uncle. That man was afraid of my uncle, and my uncle was afraid of that man.

But they kept walking and came to a darker part of the woods. My uncle looked at the man, and the man looked at my uncle. That man was VERY afraid of my uncle and my uncle was VERY afraid of that man.

But still they kept walking until they could hardly see anything. My uncle looked at the man, and the man looked at my uncle. The man was TERRIBLY afraid of my uncle, and my uncle was TERRIBLY afraid of that man.

*NOW SCREAM!*

This is the story that this strip reminded me of.

After the story about the screaming the conversation really went downhill.

And I bet Phillippe is really wishing he was more talky now.
