If anything Beef never speaks because he's too busy putting together an introductory phrase that will minimize offense for everyone and draw as little attention as possible to himself. Usually he spends so much time putting it together that the person he wanted to introduce himself to has left to go make a sandwich.

-He snatches away an instrument from someone else's hands while they learn to play. He does not own the instrument or the house he's in when he does this.
-After snatching it, he pauses to glare at Roast Beef, as if waiting for him to speak. When Roast Beef then politely asks him something, Pat hushes him.
-Pat is pretentious enough to think that a story about a boy who comes of age following his father's death could realistically have five distinct parts in an instrumental song. Think about it. There could be one part pre-death, the battle, and then afterward. How you would realistically subdivide it further than that without lyrics is the height of being a musical douchebag.

There is something quite skin-crawlingly vile about the sight of Pat wearing naught but shoes. He looks so much more nekkid than the completely unclothed Beef.
I think this is necessary.
Pat is, of course, being a total dick here. But I'd like to point out that he is such a dick about revving himself up for playing, and stopping everyone else from playing, that he is unintentionally allowing Ray to figure out what's going on and contact his doctor.
